Vacation at the nostalgic train station!
Our listed railroad station from 1900 is located in Neu Nagelberg, about 7 km north of Gmünd and directly on the Czech border. It was lovingly restored in 2021/22, almost entirely by our own hands, to bring out its charm and originality. We have preserved as much as possible and deliberately modernized only carefully. Old furniture matches the style of the station.
Let yourself be enchanted by the charm of the old station! Embark on a journey through time, completely without telephone, internet and television. Experience the flair of times long past and switch off from the stress and hectic pace of everyday life!
You have around 90 square meters of living space at your sole disposal. The covered veranda with seating invites you to eat outside or simply enjoy the evening, and a special extra is the large adjoining meadow with fire pit and barbecue facilities, which is part of the property.
In the summer months, the Waldviertelbahn train runs and stops in front of the station if required - a special experience not only for train lovers!
There are wonderful cycle paths and hiking opportunities in the surrounding area. The Gmünd lido can be reached on foot or by bike. We also recommend the Blockheide Nature Park with its viewing tower, the moated castle in Heidenreichstein, the UnterWasserReich in Schrems and much more! There are also many things to discover in Gmünd - there is something for everyone!
Please note that due to the age of the building and its listed status, insulation is only possible to a very limited extent. It can therefore get chilly in the house in the evenings during the transitional periods. There is no modern heating, but there is a wood-burning stove that can be heated.
Our station can be booked as a vacation apartment from the beginning of May to the end of September!
