Description

From summer 2025, the refuge at 1,100 meters above sea level will offer a unique break in unspoilt nature. Just an hour and a half from Vienna and nestled in the 2,500-hectare nature resort on the Geissenbergalm, you can enjoy complete tranquillity and a breathtaking 360-degree panoramic view. The hut is located around 700 meters above the Geissenberg Almhütte and can only be reached on foot. A free parking lot is available at the hut. A 15-minute walk across the alpine pasture leads to this idyllic retreat.

The hut is equipped with electricity, a fully equipped kitchen and a bathroom with shower. A sauna invites you to relax, and the barbecue area offers the opportunity to spend cozy evenings in the open air.

You will need to bring your own sleeping bag and sheets for your stay. Alternatively, a hut sleeping bag can be borrowed. Blankets are available. During the season (mid-May to the end of September) there is the option of eating regional food at the Geissenberg Almhütte.

The refuge is located on a young cattle farm with around 70 cattle. During the summer months, please ensure that the pasture fence gates and the hut fencing remain closed at all times. Out of consideration for the grazing operation, dogs are only permitted from October to April. We ask that you leave the hut clean.

The Saferboden refuge offers a special break in nature with impressive views and plenty of relaxation.
