Starting in the summer of 2025, the mountain hut at 1,100 meters above sea level will offer a unique retreat in unspoiled nature. Just an hour and a half from Vienna and nestled within the 2,500-hectare nature resort at the Geissenbergalm, visitors can enjoy complete tranquility and a breathtaking 360-degree panoramic view. The hut is located about 700 meters above the Geissenberg Almhütte and is accessible only on foot. Free parking is available at the Almhütte. A 15-minute walk across the alpine pasture leads to this idyllic retreat.
The hut is equipped with electricity, a fully equipped kitchen, and a bathroom with a shower. A sauna invites you to relax, and the barbecue area offers the chance to spend cozy evenings under the open sky.
Guests must bring their own sleeping bag and a sheet. Alternatively, a hut sleeping bag can be rented. Blankets are provided. During the season (mid-May through late September), guests can enjoy regional cuisine at the Geissenberg Almhütte.
The mountain hut is located on a young cattle pasture with about 70 head of cattle. During the summer months, please ensure that the pasture gates and the hut’s fencing remain closed at all times. Out of consideration for grazing operations, dogs are only allowed from October through April. Please leave the hut clean.
