It quickly became clear that Gerold’s former family home was too big for just two people, and so the idea was born to “open up” the house and put it to more versatile use. By 2024, the time had come—two guest rooms had been fully renovated and were ready for guests. In 2025, a third room was added, and our seminar room was used for courses for the first time.
Our vision is to create a place of creativity, a space for connection, retreat, inspiration, and tranquility—a place that is itself in a state of constant evolution and transformation. We embrace sustainability, regionality, appreciation, and openness. As a queer-friendly (LGBTQI+) lodging, we welcome people in all their diversity.
One of our greatest treasures is undoubtedly the nature that surrounds us: forests, water, fields, granite boulders, and stars at night. The house is located on the outskirts of Raabs an der Thaya. Right outside our front door, trails lead along the Thaya River into the forest, inviting you to take walks and hikes through the natural landscape.
A second must-see and major highlight is the Thayatal-Vitalbad! A truly wonderful sauna area with four different saunas, guided infusions, a steam room, and a heated outdoor pool—with a direct view of the Thaya River and the castle. There’s also a sports and wellness pool, a slide, and a children’s area. For those feeling hungry, a restaurant serves pizza and other dishes.
You can also explore the Thaya River on canoe tours, visit Raabs Castle, cycle along the 111-km-long Thayarunde Bike Trail, and discover other Excursion destinations.
