Aumühltal und "Weg der Stille"
Outdoor adventure
Description
If you are looking for peace and quiet, you will find it in the Aumühltal valley near Pernegg. Only the gentle babbling of the stream, the twittering of birds and the rustling of leaves accompany visitors on the idyllic "Path of Silence". This secluded stream valley in the Waldviertel is a real nature retreat, perfect for anyone who wants to escape the hustle and bustle of everyday life.
The circular hike starts at Pernegg Monastery. The herb labyrinth sets the mood for tranquillity and relaxation. On the 4.24 km long trail, which takes around 1.5 hours to complete, numerous installations invite you step by step to find inner peace. Small waterfalls, willow meadows and old beech forests impress along the way - a natural experience for the eyes and ears.
A special highlight is the ruins of the Aumühle mill from the 17th century. Surrounded by the foundation walls, you can see how nature is reclaiming its kingdom - accompanied by the wind blowing through the old stones.
The whole of Pernegg is dedicated to the theme of silence: yoga, mindfulness training, fasting programs and silent events offer additional opportunities to leave everyday life behind. The Pulkau Valley Nature Experience and the Schauenstein Kamptal Wilderness also invite you to relax in the surrounding area.
If you are looking for peace, nature and inner serenity, you should definitely visit the Waldviertel Aumühltal.
