The Caricature Museum Krems - Austria's only museum for caricature, satire, comics and cartoons - is just a 5-minute walk from the Krems-Stein boat landing stage and the Danube and attracts thousands of visitors to the Wachau every year. It is nestled between the historic town center of Krems and the medieval old town of Stein and is an excellent excursion destination for the whole family.
The Krems Caricature Museum is a lively place for exploring caricature and satire, an open house for both artists and visitors.
Manfred Deix was instrumental in the founding of the Caricature Museum Krems, where he is still represented today with a permanent presentation of earlier and current works. The Austrian caricaturist Manfred Deix died on June 25, 2016 at the age of 67. Manfred Deix's works have long been works of art, classics of Austrian caricature and style-defining for many colleagues. The significance of his unsparing cartoons went far beyond the country's borders and were tireless in their criticism of social constraints.
