DDSG Blue Danube

Under the motto "Experience the Danube anew", DDSG Blue Danube operates cruises on the most beautiful stretches of the Danube.

The DDSG fleet of nine modern ships sets sail on countless cruises both during the day and in the evening under the motto "Moments of happiness on board". Whether it's a leisurely cruise through the UNESCO World Hertige site Wachau, a sightseeing cruise on Vienna's Danube Canal or an evening cruise with plenty of entertainment and culinary delights. On board the fleet, the focus is on relaxation, recreation and adventure.

As one of the successor companies to the former Erste Donau-Dampfschifffahrts-Gesellschaft (= 1st DDSG), which was founded in 1829 - almost 200 years ago - the ships have been sailing mainly in Vienna and the Wachau region since 1996. The company is 50% owned by the Verkehrsbüro Group and 50% by Wien Holding.

OFFERS IN THE WACHAU REGION

From the beginning of April to the beginning of November, the DDSG Blue Danube offers excursion boat trips through the Wachau, allowing passengers to explore the picturesque region along the Danube. On the three Wachau ships MS Dürnstein, MS Wachau and MS Austria, you can enjoy the relaxed atmosphere on board and admire the sights of the Wachau, including medieval castles, idyllic villages and lush vineyards.

The well-equipped ships have on-board restaurants where Patrick Fürst and his team serve culinary delicacies from the region. On the spacious sun decks with flexible shading, you can enjoy excellent views of the passing landscape. The DDSG Blue Danube offers various excursion options, including short round trips and all-day adventure tours, as well as special themed cruises that bring the cultural and historical diversity of the region closer.

The three Wachau ships dock at various locations along the Danube: Krems, Dürnstein, Weißenkirchen, Spitz, Emmersdorf and Melk. The sailing times are designed so that you can make optimum use of the times or combine tours and visit the most beautiful sights of the Wachau.

The journey is the destination! Every Friday and Sunday, the MS Kaiserin Elisabeth departs from Vienna for a day trip to Dürnstein. During the 2-hour stay, there is plenty of time to explore the medieval town. On board, guests are spoiled with various culinary delights, from breakfast and lunch snacks to a varied evening buffet.

Every Sunday at the beginning of May until the end of December and also every Friday at the beginning of July until the end of September.

CULINARY EXCURSION TO BRATISLAVA

Every Friday & Saturday, the stylish MS Kaiserin Elisabeth sails from Vienna to Bratislava. During the 3-hour cruise to the neighboring city, breakfast and a lunch snack are served and then the 4-hour stay in Bratislava can be used for exploring, city tours or walks. The journey back to Vienna can be enjoyed on the sun deck or in the cozy lounges with an evening buffet.
