Historical sites
Description
Muthmannsdorf is one of Austria's most important dinosaur sites. Remains of the "Struthiosaurus Austriacus", which was discovered and excavated in Muthmannsdorf in 1859, as well as fossils of marine animals can be admired in the "World's Smallest Dinosaur Museum". Casts of the finds can be seen in showcases and display boards provide information about this geological achievement. The original finds can be found in the Natural History Museum in Vienna.
If you want to hike in the footsteps of the dinosaurs, you can visit the dinosaur site with the help of "prehistoric hiking maps", which are available from the municipal office.
