Panoramaweg Rossatz

Outdoor adventure

Description

If you have an appetite for hiking, we recommend the Rossatz panoramic trail. Along the high trail past picturesque stone terraces and light-flooded vineyards, wonderful views await you on this approx. 9 km long hiking circuit. Embraced by the Danube and surrounded by wine terraces and apricot gardens, Rossatz-Arnsdorf lies in one of the most beautiful landscapes in the world - the UNESCO World Hertige site Wachau. Rossatz is the largest apricot community in Austria and the Wachau apricot growing region. During the apricot blossom in spring, Rossatz is transformed into a single blooming garden. Some of the stone terraces around Rossatz date back to the 12th century and the market has been able to preserve its medieval townscape - the historic winegrowing and harvesting farms of the monasteries bear witness to the tradition of winegrowing. You can start anywhere, Rossatzbach is recommended. Just before the village sign next to the B33 main road, there is a parking lot on the right, walk into the village and after about 200 meters you will see the first marker for the Panoramaweg - this is right next to the Rehrl-Fischer winery and wine tavern on the left side of the road (towards Rossatz). Follow the signs for "Panoramaweg" or "Marillenmeile".

The Rossatz wine taverns and farm-to-table establishments will fulfill your individual wine wishes and spoil you with culinary delights. On the way back, you can hike through the Rührsdorfer Au and to the Danube. Route: Rossatzbach B33 - Höhenweg - Marterl - Friedenskreuz - St. Lorenz - way back: either through Rührsdorf and the Danube meadows or along the B33.
