Pfarrkirche Maria Himmelfahrt
Church
Description
The church and tower are a Romanesque structure that was added to the older knights' chapel.
The altarpiece "Assumption of the Virgin Mary" by the Viennese painter Maulpertsch (1756) is much admired.
The interior of the parish church was renovated from 1991 to 1996 and shines in new splendor.
Other witnesses to the past are the Markt-Metzen (hollow measure for the grain trade) from around 1300, on the redesigned church square. The old town houses around the rectangular market square and the pillory from 1622. The statue of St. Florian from the middle of the 19th century adorns the second green area on the market square after renovation in 2001.
