Wolfpassing Castle was given its current appearance by Count Ferdinand Auersperg in the middle of the 18th century. The castle itself is a stately four-storey, four-winged building with five-storey round corner towers with pointed conical roofs, a two-storey arcaded courtyard and a baroque chapel.
The property, which had been imperial property since 1834, was used as a remontenanstalt of the Imperial and Royal War Ministry and as a convalescent home for officers. Purchased by the state in 1910, it was used again as a military hospital during the First World War, and from 1929 was run as a federal educational and research institute for dairy farming.
Since the end of October 2025, Gerlinde Brod's handicraft workshop has been located in the castle. The store in Wolfpassing creates space for regional handicrafts, serves as a display, sales outlet and workroom and is a hotspot for all creative people in the Scheibbs district.
