Skigebiet Forsteralm

Ski area / lift

Description

"Schifoan dahoam. Now."

The small but centrally located ski area lies between Waidhofen an der Ybbs and Gaflenz (federal road 121). New snow-making equipment ensures the best conditions on 14 kilometers of slopes, and four lifts (1 quad chair, 2 T-bar and 1 baby lift) are available for the ascent at Forsteralm.

The increasingly difficult framework conditions for smaller ski resorts recently also caused problems for the Forsteralm. Thanks to a successful crowd-funding campaign, however, lift operations at the ski area, which is located between 720 and 1,080 meters above sea level, have been secured.

The ski school's highly trained ski and snowboard instructors offer group courses and private lessons. Practical is the ski and snowboard rental located right next to the ski school. For children and beginners there are suitable practice slopes as well as a practice lift, which can be used free of charge. For the youngest among the winter sports enthusiasts, there is all-day care in the ski kindergarten during the vacation season and on weekends.
