Description

The Hollabrunn town museum "Alte Hofmühle" is an impressive regional museum with a focus on archaeology and history. It offers a variety of permanent exhibitions, including "The Wild East", "Hollabrunn in the Middle Ages" and "Town History". The exhibition "The Wild East 100 years ago" on the new Bavarian settlement of the Weinviertel has become a hit with the public. Another focus is on the origins of Hollabrunn. The permanent exhibition "Hollabrunn - The Making of a Town" deals with the history of Hollabrunn since the town was raised in 1908. The exhibition "New Archaeology" takes visitors from the hand axe of a Neanderthal man to the circular ditches and the Celts of our region. The extensive Hollabrunn Haban ceramics collection contains productions from workshops and craftsmen from the 17th to the 19th century and provides an insight into the everyday life of the Anabaptists. The museum is run by the Hollabrunn Museum Association on behalf of the municipality of Hollabrunn and offers changing exhibitions with regional and cross-border content.
