Description

As the central elevation of the Lower Austrian Traisen valleys, the Traisenberg rises an impressive 1,230 meters into the air. Its generous massif covers more than 30 km². A total of five peaks protrude from it. Isolated forest roads and paths lead through the mainly forested mountain massif.

The Zdarsky hut at 1,082 meters on the Traisenberg invites you to stop for a break: with a variety of flowers, a playground and almost 40 overnight accommodations.

The five peaks of the Traisenberg massif:

  • Enzian (main peak): 1,230 m
  • Stieglmauer: 1.224 m
  • Castle wall: 1.215 m
  • Sonnkogel: 1.190 m
  • Karnermauer: 1.176 m

Hiking tips at the Traisenberg

  • Family-friendly: Via the theme trail "NATURerleben - Wancurasteig" you can comfortably hike to the popular Zdarsky hut on the Traisenberg.
  • With a great view: The route tour of the Traisenberg - Gschwendt hike takes about 5 hours.

Extra tip: Türnitzer Höger and Tirolerkogel as well as the mountain twins Gippel and Göller greet you as summit neighbors of the Traisenberg massif.
