Description
The 716-metre-high Peilstein is located in the southern Vienna Woods. Due to its steep limestone walls, it has been a popular climbing area for the Viennese for over 100 years. With over 800 routes, the Peilstein is one of the largest sport climbing areas in Austria. The Peilstein is also a rewarding destination for hikers.
The Peilsteinhaus run by the Austrian Mountain Club (ÖGV) is located near the summit. Here you can enjoy home cooking, seasonal delicacies and a bed in a dormitory or mattress camp for tired climbers and hikers.
