The Stieferner Badwiesn on the Kamp River is open to the public and is a great place for families or groups to take a break. In addition to swimming, it features benches, a public restroom, and a changing room. There is no buffet available.

For nearly a century, the Kamp River was an essential part of Stiefern’s “working capital,” as it provided guests of the former summer resort with a very popular “river bathing spot.” Although the traditional romance of river bathing came to an end by the 1970s at the latest, the site’s sentimental significance endures: Many people still use it as a swimming spot out of tradition, and since the Kamp Valley Bike Trail runs almost directly past the former river bath, cyclists also frequently take advantage of the opportunity to cool off. Over time, many innovative attempts at repurposing the site have emerged. Thanks largely to the initiative of the Stiefern Beautification Association, the bathing area has been equipped with a range of modern amenities: restrooms, a children’s playground, a publicly accessible barbecue area, benches, a well-maintained lawn, and an information board for the “Kamp Valley-Schönberg” Nature Park. On the initiative of the Stiefern Volunteer Fire Department, the “Badwiesn” has also established itself as a popular festival venue. These remarkable achievements, largely accomplished on a volunteer basis, were literally washed away by the floods of August 2002. Thanks to the members of the Volunteer Fire Department and the Beautification Association, the site was quickly redesigned and rebuilt according to plans by Hundertwasser architect Peter Pelikan, who is based in Stiefern. After countless volunteer work sessions, the Kampbad is now a true feast for the eyes and once again a popular place to swim and relax. The festival grounds are fully equipped and offer the option to rent the facilities for private events.
