Description
The Hofstätter family's private collection is located on the route from Lichtenau to Albrechtsberg in the idyllic Krems Valley ("Kremstal" in German).
Rural equipment, old furniture, household tools, trades related to village life such as blacksmiths, shoemakers, barrel makers, tailors and carpenters from the past, tiled stoves and bread ovens are on display here. This "somewhat different" museum is a treasure trove for nostalgia enthusiasts. The collection includes a myriad of tools, a well-preserved smoker's kitchen, rare ceramics and, in the adjoining barn, many a unique piece of harvesting equipment, such as a combine harvester from the 1920s. The garden in front of the museum invites you to linger in good weather.
