Description

The Hollabrunn Jewish cemetery, located in Steinfeldgasse outside the town, is an important historical monument. In 1876, Leopold Skutetzky and Max Wallisch purchased a plot of land to build this cemetery. The last burial took place in 1978 and the ceremonial hall built in 1909 was demolished in 1999. Nevertheless, the cemetery remains a place of great historical and cultural significance. Patrizia Mantler-Stockinger, an enthusiastic cultural mediator, offers regular guided tours of the Jewish cemetery. These tours provide in-depth insights into the history and significance of the cemetery. The Hollabrunn Jewish cemetery is an impressive testimony to the Jewish history of the region.
