At Wolfsbergkogel in Semmering, near the railway hiking trail and the Kurhaus, the sculpture park created by the self-taught artist Ignaz Semlitsch——invites visitors to marvel at his work. The sculptures are made of various metals and acrylic, and some are also for sale. If you’re interested, you can contact the current owner, Dr. Doris Lutz. A tranquil spot with seating and views of the Rax and Schneeberg mountains offers visitors to the sculpture park a place to rest and linger.

In the final phase of his career, Ignaz Semlitsch sought to give nature freer rein. He placed his artworks on tree stumps along a poplar-lined avenue. As these bases rot away, “life” is breathed into the sculptures. They lean in different directions, creating a dialogue between the sculptures and the surrounding nature.
