Zogelsdorf (limestone) sandstone has been used by man for around 3000 years, from the Bronze Age to the 20th century, and is one of the most important natural stones in Austria. Monuments and sculptures made from the "white stone from Zogelsdorf" can be found in numerous important buildings (e.g. Vienna's Karlskirche, Schönbrunn Palace, Hofburg).
