The lovingly curated permanent exhibition at the Greßl family’s Waldviertler Mohnhof offers fascinating insights into the world of poppies.

Waldviertler Mohnhof

The Waldviertler Mohnhof is a small family-run farm that has specialized in poppy cultivation for 30 years and produces cold-pressed, premium-quality poppy seed oils from gray, blue, and white poppies. You’re always welcome to visit the lovingly decorated poppy seed shop.

In addition to poppies and poppy seed oils, the Greßl Poppy Farm also offers many other poppy-themed products, such as: poppy seed capsules, poppy seed oil soaps, poppy brandy, poppy seed oil creams,....as well as many lovely gifts for friends, relatives, and business partners—or simply treat yourself!

Blooming poppy fields are an unforgettable and impressive experience. So why not combine a trip to see the poppies in bloom—in mid-July—with a visit to the “Waldviertler Mohnhof” in the relaxing natural landscape of the Waldviertel?

Poppy Museum

The on-site, lovingly curated Poppy Museum is dedicated to the theme: “See and experience poppies with all your senses” and is a popular excursion destination all year round. To give visitors year-round insight into poppy cultivation, a short film details, step by step, the journey from cultivation to processing of this “gray gold.” A colorful collection of poppy mills illustrates the history of poppy grinding from the past to the present and how poppy cultivation was carried out in those days.
