Just 25 kilometers south of Vienna, nestled in one of the most beautiful English landscape gardens in Austria, you will find the perfect location for every occasion in exclusive rooms.
The special experience of an event at Schönau Castle is certainly its exclusivity, as there will be no other event on this day apart from your meeting or event. For the duration of your stay, you and your guests will receive a PIN code for exclusive access to the castle property. If you also rent the suites in the castle and apartments in the hunting lodge, no other guests will be present - which means that there is no curfew for celebrations. In this case, the castle is at your exclusive disposal! You can meet or celebrate in complete privacy and without any onlookers.

There are numerous places to meet for a reception or an aperitif; whether rose garden by the castle pond, castle square, inner courtyard or the bright, friendly foyer, you will find the perfect place for you.
For events with up to 105 people, the conference and banqueting hall, designed according to your ideas, invites you. The elegant, light-flooded hall leaves nothing to be desired for your individual requirements: the flexible design and lighting allow different uses for daytime or evening events, such as wedding celebrations, a gala dinner with piano accompaniment or a seminar.
Equipped with state-of-the-art technology, our Refugium offers you an ideal space for your meetings, whether it's a contract signing, a difficult negotiation or a creative innovation workshop. The view of the historic castle pond completes the unique atmosphere and gives you the space you need to make strategically important decisions. Alternatively, the Refugium can be converted into a bridal room for a wedding or a cinema room for children.
In addition to a reception, the picturesque inner courtyard is ideal for a summer party, a break during a conference or as an open-air dance floor. We are happy to set up a bar here.
Our historic wine cellar, where Archduke Otto celebrated his festivities, is universally adaptable. We can set it up according to your wishes: for a private wine tasting, a meeting or a social gathering - anything is possible!
Our Pinakothek also exudes the charm of times gone by: furnished with collector's items and rarities, it offers a variety of uses, for example for a fireside chat, a reception, a reading, a small wedding ceremony or as an additional dance floor with a bar area.
The castle and the extensive 30-hectare private park also offer numerous ceremony sites. The rose garden opposite the castle, for example, is an unforgettable backdrop for a wedding ceremony, a special tribute, a get-together or an outdoor coaching session.
If you are looking for something mystical, we will open up the legendary Temple of the Night, a unique garden grotto designed as an underground labyrinth. This is not only ideal for exclusive guided tours, we are also happy to host celebrations, meetings or a morning brunch here.
Our grounds are also an excellent photo location - there are endless possibilities in Schönau Castle Park. The English landscape garden is dedicated as a natural monument and fascinates with its centuries-old giant trees, natural watercourses and extensive meadows. We are also home to very photogenic donkeys and alpacas.

Apartments in the hunting lodge
The hunting lodge at Schönau Castle is surrounded by roses and ivy and awaits illustrious company. The blossoming grounds, which are also home to the famous "Temple of the Night", a garden grotto from the early 19th century, are exclusively available to guests of the house. In timelessly beautiful, individual apartments you will find peace and relaxation with the highest level of living comfort.
Guided tours through the castle park and the Temple of the Night
Around 1800, Baron Peter von Braun built the Temple of the Night in the middle of the castle park, a unique garden grotto designed largely as an underground labyrinth. Renowned artists such as Salieri and Cherubini composed their own pieces of music for the grotto. The temple is also closely linked to the mythology of The Magic Flute - it is said that the original performance took place here.
