The Mayer-Hörmann wine tavern in Feuersbrunn (Wine Road 2) is run by Ingrid, Hans, and Felix Mayer and combines traditional winemaking with the cozy atmosphere of a wine tavern. Surrounded by fruit trees, the cozy garden offers about 150 seats where guests can linger; in case of bad weather, there are about 120 seats available indoors. Repeatedly honored as a “Top wine tavern” in the Wagram region, it delights guests with homemade specialties such as wild boar ham, smoked meats, game liver pâté, spreads, and pastries. The selection is complemented by a wine carousel featuring Veltliner, reds, and Frührot, as well as other varieties.
It is traditionally open during the wine-tasting season: in the spring (late April/early May), May through June, and August—on Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays starting at 3 p.m.—as well as daily starting at 3 p.m. during the Wine Harvest Week in late October/early November. The wine tavern is therefore ideal for connoisseurs, families, and guests traveling through the Wagram region or along the Weinviertel Way of St. James.
