For many, the Sonnwendstein is Lower Austria’s most beautiful mountain offering panoramic views, and the panorama from the sunny terrace of the Pollereshütte is equally unique: from an elevation of 1,481 meters, you can enjoy a breathtaking view of the Rax, Schneeberg, Wechsel, Bucklige Welt, and the Semmering region. Many trails lead up to the Sonnwendstein—ranging from leisurely to challenging. Hikers are treated to homemade regional and seasonal specialties, from Kaspressknödel to a variety of strudels.
