The well-maintained Waldbad is located right on Herrensee Lake in Litschau. An outdoor swimming pool and, of course, Herrensee Lake offer plenty of ways to cool off, and there are also many cozy spots to “chill out.” For children, there’s a wading pool, the “Gatschkiste,” and a sandplay area right by the lake, as well as a play area for toddlers and a large, shaded playground with a climbing castle. Plus: a multipurpose court for streetball, basketball, hockey, and skating. At the “Verweilzeit” and the “Lounge am See” at Herrensee-Platzl—two cozy spots within the beach area—you can comfortably wind down after a day of swimming and watch the sun set.
Numerous hiking trails (e.g., the Herrensee Circular Hiking Trail) run along the lake here, and the boat rental service offers various watercraft for exploring the lake, such as electric boats, pedal boats, rowboats, surf bikes, and kayaks.
At the Litschau Beach at Herrensee, dogs are not permittedduring swimming hours ( from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. during the summer months). However, dogs are permitted in the restaurants provided they are kept on a leash. Outside of swimming hours, the beach is freely accessible, though dogs must still be kept on a leash.
When the nights turn bitterly cold in winter, ice skating and curling on the natural ice surface of Lake Herrensee are great options!
