The history of the Hummelberger
...goes back to the 1920s. At that time, Josef Hummelberger bought the house with the adjoining vineyard. When he married his wife Josefa (née Barbach), she brought further vineyards into the marriage as a dowry. Even before and during the war, the couple had already started "unplugging" in addition to their wagon business and viticulture.
In 1957, Josef Jr. married Johanna Breitenecker, who brought more vineyards into the marriage. Since then, they have been running the "Hummelberger wine tavern" as you know it today.
Johanna "Hanni" Leitner is now the 3rd generation to run the business. And the 4th generation is also becoming more and more involved in the business. Hanni and her daughters look forward to your visit!
