Römerstadt Carnuntum

E-bicycle charging station

Description

Carnuntum brings the Romans into the here and now: architectural masterpieces, romantic ruins or precious treasures from the archives. And all this just half an hour's drive from Vienna and Bratislava. The past begins here.

Roman quarter

Unique in the world, part of the Roman quarter in Carnuntum has been reconstructed on its original site. Completely reconstructed houses with Roman underfloor heating, functional kitchens and magnificent wall paintings open a unique window into the Roman past of the early 4th century AD.

Carnuntinum Museum

The building, erected in 1904 in the style of a Roman country villa, is Carnuntum's treasure house. In the current exhibition "Cosmopolitan City on the Danube Limes", visitors can experience the history from winter camp to major city up close. Original finds provide great insights into the life of the metropolis. The ideal introduction to a trip to Carnuntum!
