Bisamberg train station

Train station

Description

At the foot of the Bisamberg is the eponymous stop of the Vienna S3 + S4 rapid transit lines. About 5 km only from the provincial capital Vienna is the market town with the 358 m high mountain as namesake. The unmanned train stop offers the possibility to board the train around the clock due to the ticket vending machine. Likewise connection possibilities are offered to various bus lines of the traffic group east region.

Away from the railway

From the station you can visit Bisamberg Castle. The castle, built in Renaissance style, came into the possession of the noble families Abensberg and Traun in 1640. In 1961 it was sold to a factory owner and has been privately owned ever since.

If that is not enough history for you, visit the local parish church of Bisamberg, which is dedicated to St. John the Baptist. In 1294 the church was built at the expense of the community and landowners.

Stop at the Gasthaus Schlosswirt Bisamberg for traditional delicacies. You will also have the opportunity to taste the regional wines, which are particularly fruity and fresh, in one of the numerous Buschenschanken.

Worth knowing

The main line of the Viennese express train network is located in the city centre between Floridsdorf and Meidling. The so-called outer line to Stockerau has also been in operation since the opening of the main line in 1962.
