The history

In 1869, the Budweis - Eggenburg line of the Kaiser Franz Josef Railway was put into operation, as was Sigmundsherberg station. Even though the station was not originally planned, it quickly became a hub when the Zellerndorf - Sigmundsherberg railroad line and the Kamptalbahn were built. During the First World War, Sigmundsherberg station became even more important due to the prisoner of war camp in the municipality. The coach house was built later in the years 1880 - 1881.
