Stiefern train station
Train stationDescription
Stiefern station is located in the market town of Schönberg am Kamp and welcomes its guests with a lovingly designed waiting shelter, which offers sufficient protection while waiting for the Kamptalbahn train in case of weather conditions.
The picturesque village of Stiefern is located in the center of the Kamp Valley ("Kamptal" in German) Nature Park. Surrounded by vineyards and farmland, there is a wealth of opportunities to explore the nature-loving landscape. The river nature trail, for example, provides an opportunity to discover the most beautiful aspects of the region along a flat hiking trail.
Those who prefer to relax and take time out on a bike will certainly find both on the Kamp Valley ("Kamptal" in German) cycle path. If you embark on the approximately 115.5 km long cycle path, which is a branch of the Danube cycle path, you will have the opportunity to enjoy the exhilarating Kamp Valley ("Kamptal" in German) in its most beautiful form.
The history
The villages along the Kamp experienced a significant economic boom after the opening of the Kamptal railway line in 1889, not only because agricultural produce could be transported to Vienna much more easily, but also because the region became more interesting for city dwellers due to its easier accessibility, who increasingly found rest and relaxation in the nature-spoiled region.
