Trachtenmode Maisetschläger
ShopDescription
We know their smart dirndls, traditional dresses, jackets and lederhosen. But we also know the person behind them: Elfi "Maisi" Maisetschläger is a tireless ambassador for traditional costume - and thus for the craftsmanship of the Waldviertel.
Poppy dirndl, blue print dirndl, Waldviertel jacket, Lower Austria dirndl and suit and of course original Waldviertel dirndl... - The selection and imagination of Elfi Maisetschläger and her team seem inexhaustible. "It is important to us to continue the tradition of traditional costumes by designing new styles. As a farmer's daughter born in the Waldviertel, wearing traditional costumes means a connection with my roots. As an entrepreneur, it is particularly important to me to pay attention to the quality of the material," explains traditional costume designer Maisetschläger, who has her collection produced by renowned Austrian or German partner companies.
In cooperation with people from different regions of Austria and beyond, many special models are created in this way, which refer to the respective region and thus continue the tradition.
Elfi Maisetschläger's traditional costumes are already available at four locations. The head office is in Weitra. Maisetschläger also invites you to Elfi's Naturstube in Austria's oldest brewing town, on Rathausplatz. There she shows interested people how to help themselves if their dirndl doesn't fit perfectly: Elfi calls these sewing courses "Dirndl self alteration". For those who don't want to or can't manage it, there is always the option of finding a perfectly fitting dirndl in one of Elfi's traditional costume stores.
