Train station Gänserndorf

Train station

Description

The large reception building at Gänserndorf station is located in the district of the same name in the east of Lower Austria. Modern canopies on the platforms, digital train destination displays and barrier-free access throughout offer rail passengers a high level of comfort. The arrival tracks can be reached safely via underpasses, and the ticket vending machines located there round off the self-service offer of the railway.

A further plus in terms of convenience is provided for the railway's guests by the adjoining Park & Ride facility, which offers generous space for more than 860 cars and mopeds. 180 bicycles can be accommodated in the Bike & Ride Station.

Route information

The Gänserndorf station is located on the route of the Northern Railway and also connects trains along the Gänserndorf-Marchegg railway line - a branch line of the Northern Railway. Passenger services on the similarly connected Weinviertel Landesbahn and Stammersdorfer Lokalbahn track networks were discontinued at the end of 2019.

  • Trains of the express line S1 to Meidling and Marchegg are served here.
  • Regional express trains to Bernhardsthal and Wiener Neustadt stop here.
  • Regional express trains to Breclav, Czech Republic, also stop here.
  • Connecting buses to Wolkersdorf and Mistelbach an der Zaya can be reached directly in front of Gänserndorf station.

Adventure Park Gänserndorf

Probably one of the most famous destinations in the region is the adventure park Gänserndorf. The adventure playground, the petting zoo and the climbing garden are just a few of the highlights that make visitors' hearts beat faster here. In addition to pony rides, trampolining and go-karting, friends and families can also concentrate on archery and go stalking with bows and arrows for lifelike animal dummies.

The paths are designed to be barrier-free throughout, and numerous sunny as well as shady recreation islands have been laid out, inviting visitors to linger a while.

Whether you are celebrating a child's birthday, a company outing of a different kind, or escaping boredom to beautiful Gänserndorf - a tour of the Gänserndorf Adventure Park is never wrong and is guaranteed to create a sense of adventure.
