Description
Rosemarie Zechmeister and Franz Bräuer want to transform an old traditional square farm on the edge of the Traisental valley into a sustainable, ecological and future-oriented meeting place with a "Mediterranean flair", the OlivenHof.
Extraordinary projects are to take place at this special location with a view as far as the Alpine foothills, the decelerated and cultural environment and the closeness to nature surrounded by olive trees.
When you think of olives, you think of the center of Lower Austria. Starting with the planting of the first olive trees, followed by their overwintering in the open air, planted directly in the meadows of the Traisental valley, through to the testing of the various olive tree varieties, we are now very proud of the very thriving trees and of our home-grown olives.
Freshly harvested by hand from the tree, they are inedible; the fruit only becomes edible after further processing. They are cleaned, debittered, marinated and finally preserved in olive oil - a regional delicacy as a snack with a glass of wine and herbs.
The yield is still too low, but cold-pressed olive oil from Lower Austria is already in preparation.
As soon as we are satisfied with the quality and quantity, this product, which is already in great demand, will be available from our farm.
