Bahnhof Plank am Kamp

Plank am Kamp station is located along the Kamptal railway line in the market town of the same name. The station building was constructed in the typical style with the familiar corner ashlars.

Time out

Even though the Kamp is not subject to opening hours or bathing season times, a trip to the lido in Plank am Kamp is recommended on warmer days. However, it doesn't necessarily have to be the height of summer to cool your feet in the refreshing water; the river bath is also recommended in spring and fall. Culinary delights in the form of regional wines and dishes are provided thanks to the beach tavern "Das Bachmann".

History

For many villages in Kamp Valley ("Kamptal" in German), the construction of the Kamp Valley ("Kamptal" in German) railway line meant a significant economic upturn. It was not only the easier transportation of goods to Vienna that promised a change for the better. Thanks to the more convenient connection, many city dwellers learned to appreciate the charm of the nature-spoiled region along the Kamp. It was not only due to the change in travel habits, but also to the construction of the Kamp Valley ("Kamptal" in German) reservoirs and the resulting drop in temperatures that the successful tradition of summer retreats could unfortunately no longer be continued after 1945.
