Frankenfels is a hiking and leisure paradise in the foothills of the Alps. The centuries-old market town lies in the Upper Pielach Valley in the midst of unspoiled nature in a charming part of the Mostviertel region. The village, which has won many awards for its floral splendor, is supplied with energy by a bio-heating plant - one of many contributions to a "healthy Frankenfels".
Numerous marked walking and hiking trails lead you to vantage points over 1,000 m above sea level, from where you can enjoy a magnificent view of the Ötscher region. A tour through the popular Nix Cave takes you underground.
