The municipality of Rappottenstein is located off the main thoroughfares in the heart of the Waldviertel region. Many say that the Waldviertel really begins here. The municipality consists of four main towns—Rappottenstein, Kirchbach, Roiten, and Pehendorf—as well as 16 smaller hamlets. Despite its sprawling size, it still boasts a well-developed infrastructure. It is precisely this fact that makes our municipality so charming. With its diverse landscape—including vast forests, lush meadows and fields, clear streams, deep gorges, and beautiful views—you’ll find everything that makes life worth living.
