It’s no coincidence that the market town of Weissenbach an der Triesting in the district of Baden is called the “Pearl of the Triesting Valley”: A total of 150 kilometers of hiking trails wind through the densely forested upper Triesting Valley—beautifully situated on the edge of Central Europe’s largest area of resin-scented black pine. The 716-meter-high Peilstein, located within the municipal boundaries of Weissenbach and Altenmarkt, is considered a rocky climber’s paradise—complete with a cozy nature lovers’ hut at the summit.

Weissenbach/Triesting: A multifaceted active vacation
In addition to numerous hiking trails, such as the moderate Peilstein Loop, there are even more outdoor highlights to discover in Weissenbach: for example, the Alpine School on the Peilstein, the connection to the enchanting Triesting Valley Bike Path, or a challenging mountain bike trail.

Sights in Weissenbach an der Triesting
Throughout the municipality of Weissenbach, there is also plenty to discover culturally: From the Triesting Valley Local History and Regional Museum to Neuhaus Castle and Fortress—all the way to the complex of the former Leonische (wire) factory dating from the late 19th century. Also worth seeing are the Schwarzensee branch church with its Romanesque core and the Neo-Gothic parish church of the Sacred Heart of Jesus.
