Description
Surrounded by forests and rolling hills, the Stockerwirt country inn in Sulz in the Vienna Woods sets the tone. Built in 1990 within the walls of an old mill, Katharina and Georg Stocker's inn is in harmony with nature. A seat in the garden with a view of the pond is much sought after. The cuisine is characterized by a classic Austrian style. Home-style with a slight tendency towards upscale gastronomy. The crispy fried organic brook trout with chanterelles and potato and seed oil salad confirms this. Homemade Thum-Mangalitza pork gammel is finely prepared in dumplings and served with coleslaw. A must: the minced venison escalope with mashed potatoes and fried onions.
The versatile Stockerwirt
Guests appreciate the wide range of fine wines on offer. With over 1,800 varieties, everyone will find their preferred grape. The desserts ensure a harmonious whole. More than ten dessert stations impress and leave hardly a wish unfulfilled. Inside, guests can choose from 170 seats. The winter garden radiates a crackling feel-good atmosphere with an open fireplace. The standards at Landgasthaus Stockerwirt are high. Despite 2 Gault Millau toques, it is often referred to as an inn for everyone. And rightly so. From a simple menu for hikers to a multi-course dinner for discerning gourmets - the Stockerwirt delivers quality and serves hospitality.
