Description

The ÖTK refuge was built in 1894 and is located at 1,643 m on the Rax plateau. It is a popular place for mountain lovers to rest and recharge their batteries. The hut can be reached from the summit station in around 2 hours and leads past the Preiner Wand cross. If you prefer something more challenging, you can climb up to the hut via the numerous via ferratas on the Preiner Wand. The hut is a popular stopover when hut hopping on the Rax.
