Schreiners - Das Waldviertel Haus

Tavern / inn

This business is excellent…

  • Lower Austrian inn culture

Description

The Waldviertel can be seen, smelled and tasted fabulously at the Schreiner restaurant in Laimbach/Ostrong. The family-run business in the district of Melk is widely known as "Das Waldviertel Haus". Since 2002, landlady Sabine Paula Schreiner has been spoiling her guests in a rather typical-looking Biedermeier house. From the soup pot, the creamy garlic cream soup with croutons and topping caresses the palate. The Burgundy beef roast with Waldviertler dumplings - a down-to-earth and tried-and-tested main course - comes without any topping at all. The offal expresses the high culinary art of the house. Liver, blunzen, oven-fresh roast pork and veal are prepared in the kitchen according to traditional craftsmanship. The service is on the ball. Competent and courteous.

A house by and for connoisseurs

Schreiners - "Das Waldviertel Haus" is much more than a successfully established inn in Lower Austria. It is also run as a hotel and impresses with its warm hospitality and modern rooms. A healthy and sustainably growing business that succeeds in offering everything from a vacation to a culinary experience. The inn's garden with swimming biotope is known far beyond the region. An oasis of well-being in the middle of the unique hilly landscape of the southern Waldviertel, where many of the Schreiner family's regional partner businesses are located, including the Schindler and Fichtinger farms and the Haselböck brewery.
