Wirtshaus Beringer

Tavern / inn

This business is excellent…

  • Falstaff: 1 fork
  • Lower Austrian inn culture

Description

Wirtshaus Beringer in Mank recognized this early on: A cultivated pub culture includes not only food and drink, but also music and art. While Hans Joachim Beringer takes care of cultural events and directs the activities in the restaurant, Alexandra Labenbacher-Konecny and her mother Roswitha wield the cooking spoons. The classic home cooking is complemented by modern culinary creations. The oat root soup with malt beer syrup, quince with crispy Blunzen slices, Marchfeld asparagus in tempura batter or Beringer's "hot pots" make this clear: It never gets boring. Inn classics such as the oven-fresh Sunday roast, Urli's bratwurst sausages from the Hausselch or the cream slices remain as good as ever.

Regionality with sophistication

The 400-year-old house has been family-owned since 1927. The Mostviertel region has always served as a culinary treasure trove. Nut schnapps, vermouth, lemonades, quince liqueur and a refreshing mango lassi with cardamom are all produced by the Beringer family themselves. The "Brutal lokal" culinary event regularly showcases the best of the region to guests. Grandpa Sam takes care of the various vegetables and herbs. As you will have noticed, the Beringer family lives and breathes togetherness. This ultimately benefits the guests, who can indulge themselves in the Hofgartl, the Zirben-Extrastüberl, the Schankstube, the modern conservatory or the vaulted cellar.
