Skiing and snowboarding

From family-style slope at Annaberg to World Cup downhill run at Semmering, Lower Austrian ski resorts have a broad range of offerings from very easy to quite difficult.

Recreation begins on arrival and continues on the runs thanks to the numerous lifts and the expansive slopes. Long waits and crowded slopes are two things you won’t find here! Young skiers will feel right at home on most slopes. One third of all lifts are suitable for beginners and nearly half of all runs are blue, meaning that they are classified as “easy.” But advanced skiers will find plenty of fun and challenging slopes, too. Winter in Lower Austria has that extra little something, what with the freeride terrain on Hochkar, at Gemeindealpe or on Schneeberg, the fun parks on Ötscher or in Mönichkirchen-Mariensee and night-time skiing at the famous World Cup run at Semmering.
