1st Vienna Water Pipeline Path - Section 2

Hiking tour Starting from Thermalbad Bad Vöslau

  • Difficulty: Easy

We owe this beautiful hiking trail to the construction of the First Vienna High Spring Pipeline in 1873. In order to utilize the gradient for the valuable drinking water from the source in the Rax-Scheeberg area to Vienna, it was "divided" over the entire length. The hiking trail is correspondingly flat. There are no noticeable ascents or descents, apart from in the town of Baden - and even here not worth mentioning.

Description

In 1998, this path was laid out directly on the pipeline route to mark the 125th anniversary of the I. Wiener Hochquellenleitung. Every year in September, the traditional pleasure mile takes place here, with direct wine tasting in the vineyard. The hiking trail along the I. Wiener Hochquellenleitung consists of 2 routes, each designed as a day trip. The trail leads along the most beautiful sections of the pipeline route. The first section of the 1st Vienna Water Trail starts in Kaiserbrunn. The second section of the 1st Vienna Water Trail starts in Bad Vöslau.
