Hiking tour Starting from Schweighofer Relaxation Hotel
Powerful, refreshingly green forests, idyllic rivers, blossoming poppy, rapeseed and hop fields, miles of country lanes - here in the heart of the Waldviertel region, hikers' hearts beat particularly fast. The confluence of the Kamp and Zwettl rivers characterizes the nature around the historic town of Zwettl, creating a unique geographical valley location. Zwettl has been awarded the Austrian Hiking Seal of Quality and is a certified "Hiking Village".

When choosing your route, make sure it’s appropriate for your fitness level. Check to see if the restaurants and cafes you plan to visit along the way are open. Pack your fully charged cell phone and maps in your backpack. For cross-border trips, please always carry a passport or ID card with you.
Sturdy shoes, functional clothing, sun and rain protection, maps, trekking poles if needed, first-aid kit (blister bandages), and plenty of food (snacks, granola bars, fruit, water).
Follow the trail markers eastward to the nearby forest. Imposing granite formations line the path all the way to the Ottenstein Reservoir. Continue following the yellow signs through Siebenwirth to Wolfsberg, Eschabruck, and on to Kleinschönau. From Kleehof, the trail leads through the cool high-altitude forest and along a small stream back to Friedersbach and the starting point.
