The trail runs entirely along Long-Distance Hiking Trail 07, also known as the Burgenland Long-Distance Hiking Trail. The route begins in the center of Lockenhaus. The trail takes us along the Geschriebenstein federal highway toward Rechnitz until we reach the town limits. After leaving the town, the WW07 leaves the federal highway and continues mostly along forest trails up the mountain. Along the way, there is a turnoff to the Margaretenwarte. After crossing the federal highway and climbing a bit further, you’ll reach the main Alpannonia trail. From here, it’s not far to the summit and the Geschriebenstein observation tower.
