Alte Poststraße - Karlstein

From the Thayatal Bridge, head south along Sieghartserstraße. Before reaching the castle rock, follow the 630 long-distance hiking trail up the Birkenleiten to a small lookout spot offering a view of Karlstein. From there, head back down to the road and turn right before the Holzgraben Bridge, which crosses the Schladeinbach. Continue up the “alte Poststraße,” going around the back of the estate. Then descend the “Deanaberg” toward the church and turn right onto the main road. From there, head back to the Thaya Bridge.
