When choosing your route, make sure it’s appropriate for your fitness level. Check to see if the restaurants and cafes you plan to visit along the way are open. Pack your fully charged cell phone and maps in your backpack. For cross-border trips, please always carry a passport or ID card with you.

Route characteristics: 25% asphalt, 35% forest road, 40% forest trail

Sturdy shoes, functional clothing, sun and rain protection, maps, trekking poles if needed, first-aid kit (blister bandages), and plenty of food (snacks, granola bars, fruit, water).

Passing by the middle school, this trail leads you to the kindergarten and continues over the “Heuschoberberg” to the village of Angelbach. Here, the trail climbs along the Angelbach stream, and you follow a forest path to the B41 federal highway (near Rindlberg) and cross it. The trail continues to the “Kitzlerhäuser” (where you can hike up to the observation tower) and then descends again to the parking lot in Scheiben (the starting point for trails to the animal enclosure, children’s playground, etc.). From here, follow the trail markers along State Road L 8298 to Bad Großpertholz.
