In the middle of Böheimkirchen is the municipality's extensive, tree-filled park. The Angerhofweg starts here. Right at the start, those interested can read the most important key dates of the village on the memorial stone commemorating the 1000th anniversary of the first documentary mention in 985. After walking through the park avenue, the route continues along the banks of the Michelbach stream. You leave the landscape of the northern foothills of the Alps, which is characterized by arable farming, and enter the flysch zone, where pasture farming predominates. This geological area stretches like an arc from Lake Geneva on the northern side of the Alps to the Bisamberg near Vienna. The soft sandstone subsoil has created unique erosion and landscape forms here. You cross the Michelbach - Old High German: "big stream" - at Furth. This crossing already existed in the Middle Ages, hence the place name. The picturesque church of St. Peter am Anger can be seen from afar. The village was first mentioned in 1248, but its exact origins are uncertain. The style of today's church is a mixture of late Gothic and Baroque. Passing the Hagenau farm - once a knight's court, as tombstones in St. Pölten Cathedral testify - the route leads up to the Eichberg (415m). Return along the mountain ridge, which was an important traffic route in the Middle Ages. Before that, however, you can enjoy the Alpine panorama with views as far as the Ötscher. A beach volleyball court and an outdoor pool await particularly sporty hikers at the end of the trail.
