Description
Opened in 2006, the Anna-Alm is a cozy and rustic hut with a fantastic view of the surrounding mountain area: from the Mostviertel mountain area to the Hochschwab to the Rax and Schneeberg.
- Route description From the parking lot of the town hall (976m, Annarotte 14, 3222 Annaberg) the path leads over the "Urleiten" towards the Annaberger Lifte, where you cross the ski slope and the route of the drag lift. Then it continues on more comfortable paths to the Waldbauern snack station, past which a forest road gently ascends to the "Weißen Kreuz" (wayside shrine). Immediately after, keep left at the pasture fence (signpost), follow the red marking without a number and hike with increasingly steeper ascent on the rustic ridge of the Hennesteck. Now it goes much more comfortably. The forest becomes sparser and before the path leads to the reservoir, turn right towards the summit, where a beautiful summit cross awaits the hiker.Return the same way to the reservoir at Hennest which invites you to linger. Past the lake, the marked path branches left down into the valley. A short break at the Anna-Alm should not be missed. Therefore, you initially leave this marking to the left and continue for about 500 m to this beautiful hut. This detour is definitely worth it. Located on one of the most beautiful viewpoints in the Ötscherland, the Anna-Alm offers traditional homemade cuisine and an unforgettable panoramic view of the surrounding mountains and valleys of the Alpine foothills. Refreshed, you return to the marked path - you cross the ski slope and walk a bit along the ski trail. Then continue right down on a forest path until you reach the "Stadlerhof" farm where you meet an asphalt path. Here turn briefly left and then immediately right downhill into the "Tannbachgraben". Along the gravel path (uphill trail of the mini bike park) you reach the parking lot of the Annaberger Lifte. Following the "nature trail" in gentle hairpin bends, the path leads back to the centre of Annaberg.Those who want to shorten the route by about half an hour can also start from the parking lot of the Annaberger Lifte (Annarotte 126, 3222 Annaberg).
- Parking At the parking lot by the town hall (directly behind the church) there are free parking spaces available. Alternatively, the parking lot of the Annaberger Lifte can be used. The parking lot of the Annaberger Lifte is chargeable. Users of the mountain rail offer park for free. The parking ticket can be purchased during opening hours directly at the cashier or anytime online in the webshop.
