The Anninger Trail is a basically easy single trail that is interesting for all types of bikers. At the end of the trail there are several variants to choose from, from easy to difficult, this is the GPX track of the trail including a medium-difficult variant. The natural trail is very winding and offers pure riding fun and small MTB elements for young and old as well as beginners and professionals. The special feature is the gentle gradient, so everyone feels at home here. And if you want to be fast, you have to step on the gas.
The Anninger Trail is located in the Anninger mountain bike area and is a moderately difficult trail for the last 500 m. Please be careful at junctions! The Anninger Trail can only be ridden downhill. This trail is reserved for mountain bikers. Nevertheless, we ride considerately and at half speed. Short segments are designated as shared trails. It is forbidden to ride on the trail!
Before every ride, check that the brakes, tires, and suspension fork/shock are in good working order. Always ride with an eye out for hazards and at a controlled speed, and choose a route that suits the group’s riding ability and the terrain. The Fair Play rules must be observed at all times. Single/shared trails, as well as built trails in trail parks and trail centers, often feature rocks, roots, steep sections, steps, and sharp turns that require a certain level of riding skill. If in doubt, simply dismount and walk your bike.
A safe and roadworthy mountain bike is a prerequisite for all routes. A helmet and gloves provide protection in the event of a fall, and knee and elbow pads can be added when riding on single or shared trails. A modern mountain bike with disc brakes and sufficient tire tread is recommended. For single and shared trails rated red difficulty or higher, a full-suspension bike with modern geometry is recommended. Tools, a tire lever, a pump, and a spare inner tube will help in case of a flat tire. You should also carry enough food and drink, as well as a cell phone and a windbreaker or rain jacket.
The trail starts at the Grenzweg and leads to the starting point of the Anninger Uphill. On the final section of the Anninger Trail, there are three different routes. The blue route offers an easy descent. The red and black routes are a highlight for technically skilled riders. The final section features stone steps and root-covered sections—please take a close look before riding!
Unfortunately, there are no establishments right along the route. But you can take the Gasthaus Bockerl–Prießnitztal shuttleto stop for a bite to eat at Gasthaus Bockerlfrom Prießnitztal.
The elevation data for this route was calculated based on A-MAP. Due to differences in the map data used by various routing and navigation apps and devices, slight variations in the figures are inevitable. For more information, see the following blog post!
