Description
The approx. 7-kilometre circular trail starts and ends at Weinhof Aufreiter in Krems-Angern or at Lillis Marillengarten in Paudorf. Several stations invite you to learn more about the animals in the apricot garden, the blossoming of the trees and the work in the apricot garden.
There are plenty of wildflowers and wild herbs to be found in the many intervening areas, along the rains, hedges and pathsides and also in the middle of the gardens. Those who want to observe the wildlife will be just as richly rewarded. From insects, spiders and birds to small mammals such as the very special ground squirrel, rare reptiles such as the fire salamander or green lizard to pheasant, hare and deer ... if you have a little leisure and patience, you will encounter them all here!
The circular trail ends again at Weinhof Aufreiter or at Lillis Marillengarten. In both farms you will find numerous delicious apricot souvenirs and apricot products in the gourmet farm stores. Enjoy all kinds of Wachau apricot delicacies, visit the Wachau apricot distillery and taste the many delicious products!
- Equipment The Apricot Experience Route is passable with all-terrain strollers but not suitable for bicycles!
- Route description The approximately 7 km long circular route is well signposted and leads through the enchanting wine and apricot landscape around the Aufreiter wine farm. The walking time is about 2 hours, it is freely accessible and most beautiful from March to October.
- Parking There are unfortunately no public parking spaces directly near the Aufreiter wine farm in Krems-Angern, and parking possibilities are limited. Please observe the traffic regulations.The start is also possible at Lillis Apricot Garden in Paudorf. Ample parking is available here.

Recommended period
Use of the Apricot Route is free of charge. The vintners and apricot growers in the area maintain the gardens and mow the paths. You can appreciate this by tasting and buying the regional products around wine & apricot in the farm shops and thus enable this service to continue.
